How 1 In Awesome Wonder came to be

Ok, right to the point. I have started a blog at the urging of some friends and family. It can be found here at

My site name describes me, often times in humbled adoration of the awesome wonder around me, and is pulled from the first line of the old hymn (one of my favorites), “How Great Thou Art”. I often will listen to Elvis Presley’s version of this song and it brings me back to my childhood, standing in church, singing this hymn, and even then, feeling the goose bumps up and down my body. Since I can remember I have been that sentimental kid, a big softie, or whatever line you use to describe one who gets goose bumps and a lump in their throat every time they hear the National Anthem. Whether it’s the Anthem, a touching story, or thoughts of the great men and women in our families and all they gave, there, you would likely find me fighting back a tear. I don’t know why really. Maybe because from the time I was young I wanted to lose myself in things bigger than I, just get drawn in and appreciate it thoroughly, love it, and live it. Christmas, family, God’s green earth, sports (especially baseball), wild animals, acts of kindness, generosity, these are all things I buried myself in. Many times I missed things that would have been obvious to others because I was locked in on something I wanted to hold on to. Those things I hold so dear do touch me to the core and my feelings are genuine and reactions are immediate. As the site name suggests, I truly am 1 in awesome wonder.

Check it out if you like. Share it with others if you like the approach to the content it contains. This is a new thing to me so I am not sure what to expect myself. Thanks for reading through this.
